About Chris Cazin

I grew up hunting and plinking at a very young age. Growing up on the "Da Range" (as in Irong Range) afforded easy opportunities to find a gravel pit or 40 to do some shooting at. Upon growing up and starting my career in Law Enforcement I saw that having competent gun handling and shooting skills was a necessity in my profession. After attending a training class in 2007 that had a practical shooting challenge at the end of it, the instructor told us that it was based off of IPSC shooting. At the time I had no idea what that meant and a short internet search enlightened me to the world of action shooting. From that point on I never looked back and have shot many disciplines of action shooting including USPSA, 3 gun, Steel Challenge, and IDPA. Something about using all 3 guns and the complexity of it shined through and held me to 3 gun as my passion. Since then I have competed on a national level at numerous major matches along with everything local that I can attend. I've been a Police Officer for 18 years now. During that time I have been an NRA LE firearms instructor for 11 years and have put in 8 years on SWAT. I have also been instructing the MN 3 Gun Group beginner and advanced classes since their inception.
